The IC-125 is automatic and intuitive to operate. When connected to the line, it determines the type of service (ADSL or STB) and detects possible high frequency active signals (eg, ADSL). Otherwise, the user can try to synchronize the device with possible DSLAM to check the parameters of the line.

The IC-125 checks whether the local loop wiring allows the provision of ADSL service by connecting it at various points: at the end, at the junction box or at the connection box. When synchronized, it shows the parameters and the DSL transmission spectrum, so that regions of the spectrum degraded by noise sources can be located.

In addition to extensive ADSL testing, the IC-125 checks other services (e.g., ISDN) on BRI S/T and U interfaces, in ET modes or permanent links, in addition to STB lines.
